REPRESENT WYANDOTTE

Language Justice for Wyandotte Voters

County officials have the power—and the responsibility—to make voting accessible for voters.

In Kansas, county officials have a tremendous amount of power when it comes to election accessibility.

Although only four Kansas counties meet the federal criteria that mandates multilingual election materials, 14 counties currently offer materials in multiple languages.

Wyandotte County has over 50,000 non-English-speaking residents. Providing language access to vote is absolutely necessary for a fully representative democracy in Wyandotte County.

Join us to create change.

We're seeking volunteers to canvass at the el Día de los Muertos celebration on November 4.

We're hosting a training for the event on November 2—join us to advocate for language justice in Wyandotte!

Encourage Election Commissioner Michael Abbott to defend voting rights.

Despite ten advocacy, direct service, and other local groups continually requesting meetings with Election Commissioner Michael Abbott regarding language justice and early voting in WyCo, he has declined to meet with us.

Make no mistake: Michael Abbott has the power to let Wyandotte voters make their voice heard by providing multilingual election materials and expanding early voting access.

The community that Mr. Abbott serves is clearly and respectfully expressing our needs for language access in the election process. You can join us by using our form to add your voice to the calls for language justice!
